BOTM: “Black: Architecture in Monochrome” from Phaidon
Our book of the month is “Black: Architecture in Monochrome” from the editors at Phaidon. We were excited to learn than our Corbett Residence was included! The book catalogues a variety of building typologies and spaces around the world with works by Peter Zumthor, Pezo von Ellrichshausen, Todd Saunders, and Tham & Videgård, among others! Pick up your copy here after October 9th .
Song of the Month
For the September song of the month, we’ve chosen to feature Nobody Else Will Be There, by The National. This is the opening song to the group’s most recent album, Sleep Well Beast, the front cover of which features the barn in which the album was recorded. The design for the album was done by Pentagram and is featured here on Dezeen. Nobody Else Will Be There is a great example of a song introducing the intent of an entire album. This album has grown on us since its release earlier this month, and we now let out a collective “Guh” (in situan for “that is such a good sound”) when we hear the opening piano strike on this track.
Please contact us if there is any way we can help you.
Best.
