Baileywick Park is located in a far north suburb of Raleigh. The park is programmed with baseball fields, a playground, and a multi-purpose field. The county-side greenway passes through the park. Burgeoning growth in the area has placed new demand on the park, specifically for all-weather play areas for basketball and pickleball. The new shelter is suspended in the air on twelve columns and shrouded in a translucent skin. A series of concrete site walls folds underneath, negotiating a significant change in topography. A tile-clad storage and utility “box” serves as a stage backdrop for cultural and other events.
