If the greenway is for bikes + commuting at the outskirts of the city, the Blueway is for walking and intercity connectivity. This proposal heightens the experience of the pedestrian, providing moments to rest, engage, and participate in the activity of the city.

Public spaces within the urban sphere are coveted areas of refuge and activity that often promote community engagement and neighborhood transformations, and yet the current urban landscape of Raleigh fails to foster captivating public spaces. Curating public space of diverse programs has the potential to stitch together otherwise separated communities at a larger scale in a way that engages the city and its inhabitants. Developing underutilized areas for open public space and curating a network to connect these introduced programs will elevate community engagement and interweave the diverse urban fabric of the city. The utilization of a scalable module system is designed to serve as an identifiable beacon connecting the greater network and to define the program per the public space.
