Jubala is a coffee shop/roastery in a suburban development - an interior world distinct from its banal setting. Entry is defined by a wood screen and linear planter that direct arrivals left along a retail wall, past a grab-and-go, and to the POS. The espresso bar is concrete and topped with a delicate plane that extends past the concrete mass to create a cupping station. Two sitting areas exist in the space – an open, light, extroverted area in the retail space, and a smaller, darker, introverted space in the back corner, under a dropped ceiling and behind a metal screen.
